Synopsis:
This software is a Bible that a sysop may use to provide their users
with the word of God. However; you do not need a BBS to use this
software. The software provides a method of reading any of the books
of the Bible.
It should be noted that this is the King James Version, all sixty-six
books are provided. This software is offered FREELY to anyone who wishes
it. Our Lord, Jesus, didn't charge for his teachings and neither will I.
I wrote this program for that reason: the Word of God is FREE and was
meaant to be available to all, not just those who can pay for it. In my
opinion, to put a price on the Word of God is a direct insult to the
Almighty and His teachings.
BBS requirements:
This software will run on any system that supports the 31-line
DOOR.SYS drop file format or a door converter that supports
DOOR.SYS. Nine megs of free disk space. A fossil driver like
BNU or X00.
Non-BBS requirements:
Any IBM compatibale with 384K of ram and nine megs of free hard disk.
Installation for Bulletin Boards:
Installation is very easy. Make a directory under your BBS
called TOB then copy the files from this archive into that
directory. The only parameter you need on the command line is
the directory of the DOOR.SYS, I use the below line in my batch
file:
TOB C:\PCB
Thats it, TOB ready to run. The final step is to install it into
your BBS, consult your BBS documentation on door installation. If you
wish to see a working version of TOB, please call 402/291-7154. Also if
you have any problems setting the software up as I will be more than
happy to provide technical assistance.
Your users have the ability to save a book mark for the book they
are reading. Currently, TOB only allows one book mark per user.
Installation for non-Bulletin Boards:
Installation is again very easy. Make a directory somewhere on your
hard drive called TOB then copy the files from this archive into that
directory. Thats it. To read a book, just type the following:
BVIEW <3-letter name of book>, ie:
BVIEW REV for viewing of the Book of Revelations.
With BVIEW you can save a book mark for each of the books. In your TOB
directory, you will see *.USR files, these are your book marks.
Adaptive Technologies:
This software has a special feature developed for people who do not use
speech but can not read normal print. The adaptive technologies this
software supports is easy to use and quick to learn. To use the adaptive
technologies, press CONTROL-R. The screen print will enlarge to eight
times the normal size of a letter. There are several keyboard functions
that the adaptive technologies supprts. Below is a list of keystrokes:
I Move up one line
M Move down one line
J Move left once
K Move right once
Q Move up three lines
A Move down three line
Z Move left ten characters
X Move right ten characters
R Reset cursor to top of screen
ESC Leave the adaptive technologies and return to
normal viewing
ENTER Jump to start of next line
BACKSPACE reset pointer to start of previous line
Final words:
Thank you for using this software and I hope that you enjoy reading the
Word of God as much as I do. Please feel free to make suggestions
